AmaZulu FC coach Arthur Zwane has made a bold statement about Bafana Bafana‘s chances in the upcoming AFCON.
The continental tournament is set to take place in Morocco between 21 December and 18 January with Bafana in Group B along with Angola, Egypt and Zimbabwe.
Broos’ troops will look to do better this time around having won the bronze medal in the last edition that was staged in Ivory Coast.
Zwane says considering the Bafana form and how well they qualified for the tournament, he feels they can easily reach the final this time around.
“I fancy our chances when you look at how we qualified,” said Zwane.
“We outplayed some of the top countries on the continent. I don’t see any reason we wouldn’t go all the way to the final this time around.
“It’s also in preparation of the World Cup. When you look at the future that is in that squad, there are players who can play the World Cup three times if we qualify in the next coming years.
“So, with AFCON, it will also help export a lot of players to overseas like we used to do as a nation. So, we are so proud.”
