Banyana Banyana made it two wins out of two after overcoming Algeria 2-0 in their second friendly international at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Friday afternoon.
Head coach Desiree Ellis rang quite a few changes from the team that started the first clash with Kaylin Swart, Gabriela Salgado, Bonolo Mokoma, Karabo Dhlamini and Sinegugu Zondi all getting starts.

It was a match that started with intent from both sides who were looking to unsettle each other earlier on.
Unlike in the first tie where there was a goal scored in the first period by Nthabiseng Majiya in the 36th minute, neither side were able to get on the scoresheet.
In fact, even though Salgado found the net five minutes to the break, it was called back and chalked off for offside.
A return from the halftime break seems to have sparked life into the hosts who were getting closer and closer to the breakthrough though their threats were thwarted by the Algerians.
South Africa’s relentless effort to break the deadlock paid off as Majiya capitalised on a defensive lapse from Algeria to fire in the bottom-corner from a short-passing move on the edge of the area and make it 1-0.
In the 87th minute, it was 2-0 to the 2022 African champions with Shakia O’Malley doubling the lead as South Africa completed the double win over the Desert Foxes.
Ellis’ charges will now get back into camp as they prepare for a trip to Asia where they will play Japan in two international friendlies in June.
The first match is scheduled for 6 June at Nagai Ballgame Field in Osaka while the second one will follow three days later at the J-Green Sakai also in Osaka.
