The Banyana Banyana trio of captain Refiloe Jane and defenders Bambanani Mbane and Fikile Magama have made the group stage best XI at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The trio played in all three of Banyana’s group games helping the defending champions finish top of Group C with seven points. Mbane has been leading the South African defence with Magama as one of her partners and also has a goal from the opening clash against Ghana. Jane scored in her side’s 4-0 demolition of Mali in the final group match.

Banyana’s quarter-final opponents Senegal also have a representative in the best XI in current joint top goal scorer Nguenar Ndiaye. Zambia who finished second in group A also have three players in the attacking duo of Rachel Kundananji, Barbara Banda and defender Lushomo Mweeba.
The Super Falcons are represented by Ashleigh Plumtre and her midfielder captain Rasheedat Ajibade. Moroccan skipper and joint top goal scorer Ghizlane Chebbak and Algerian goalkeeper Chloe N’gazi complete the XI.
