Banyana Banayana captain Refiloe Jane will be ‘back on the field soon’ according to team Doctor, Nthabiseng Maesela.
The South African national team captain had to leave the field early on during their 2-2 draw against Argentina after landing awkwardly on her ankle has she missed out on finishing the game which marked a first-ever point for South Africa at the World Cup.
However, the injury is better than first feared as it’s been confirmed he should be able to feature in their final group game against Italy, with three points for either side will see them join Sweden in the knockout stages.
“Refiloe is doing well. After going for a scan it was confirmed that she sustained a soft tissue injury and she should be back on the field soon,” the Banyana doctor confirmed.
“I can further confirm that the team has no other injuries or illnesses. Everyone is healthy and ready to continue preparing for our final group match against Italy on Wednesday.”
