Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bongani Zungu has revealed AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu played a major role in his move to Usuthu.
Zungu, 32, joined the KwaZulu-Natal side alongside Sandile Mthethwa this week and could make his debut against his former side.
He admitted that he opted to leave Masandawana due to some mental issues, and had several offers from other clubs, but felt the love from Usuthu in their approach of him.
“Happiness is important on life and obviously in the last few months I spoke to a lot of clubs in South Africa and outside South Africa and I had time to think about what’s going to make me happy,” he stated on Friday.
“When I spoke to the president and some of the guys here at at AmaZulu, how the club is and the environment, for me that was appealing.
“The president played a major to try and get me to come here, and I’m very happy and grateful for this opportunity.”
