Sundowns & PLK City Starting XIs Announced

Mamelodi Sundowns and Polokwane City have announced their starting XIs for tonight’s Betway Premiership clash at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

After facing off each other 10 days ago, Sundowns and City once again renew their rivalry with the former out to avenge their defeat while simultaneously aiming to close the gap on Orlando Pirates who are now six points clear after their 1-0 win over Richards Bay last night.

Manqoba Mngqithi’s charges play in an encounter with one eye on the weekend in their Carling Knockout Cup semi-final tie against Marumo Gallants in Bloemfontein.

City, meanwhile, find themselves in third place on 13 points, just two adrift of Sundowns from six games, and are aiming for rare double having been the only side to beat the Betway Premiership defending champions.

A win for Rise and Shine would see them complete three matches in a row without defeat for the first time since October 2022 when they were still campaigning in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

The defending league champions have a better head-to-head record against Rise and Shine in their last five meetings, winning three with one draw and just a single loss.
