Golden Arrows midfielder Lungelo Dube believes his coach, Manqoba Mngqithi, and MC Alger mentor Rulani Mokwena are the best coaches in South Africa.
Mngqithi returned to Abafana Bes’thende in March 2025 after a sabbatical following his departure from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Under his leadership, the KZN outfit have played attractive football and boasts the third-highest goal tally in the league, behind Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.
Despite their attacking prowess, Arrows sit ninth on the table with 20 points from 17 matches, a position largely influenced by their 22 goals conceded.
Dube says Mngqithi is like a scientist — a detail-oriented coach who believes every small aspect of the game has a direct impact on the outcome.
“He doesn’t sleep at nights, studying games, coming up with innovative tactics, thinking how he’s gonna approach the game,” said Dube on the Up Back Through Podcast.
“For me, coach Manqoba is a scientific coach, when I say scientific coach, I count him and Rulani Mokwena as best coaches in South Africa.
“When I say that [I mean] no one else is on their level. They are scientific in the way that they believe that ‘your actions and results will be determined by how you prepare’
“In every phase of the game, even how you receive the ball, he believes there’s a cause and effect like a scientist. When a scientist works in the lab believes that ‘this is cause by this’
“And if I control this, the result I’ll get here will be an outcome of this work.”
