Arrows & Sundowns Starting XIs Announced

Lamontville Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns have announced their starting line-ups for this evening’s DStv Premiership clash at Mpumalanga Stadium.

Arrows are on a four-match winless run, having last won at the end March against their neighbours Richards Bay. Steve Komphela and his troops also conceded 14 goals in the last five matches.

Abafana Bes’thende conceded the second-highest number of goals in the league (41) after Cape Town Spurs with 42. Despite all that, they remain in touching distance with top eight spot. A win for them would put them to 35 points and above Kaizer Chiefs.

Sundowns, meanwhile, were confirmed as DStv Premiership champions six days ago after hammering Kaizer Chiefs 5-1 at FNB Stadium. Even though they’ve been confirmed as champions, Rulani Mokwena is eying an invincible campaign and to break the record of Kaizer Chiefs of conceding just 11 goals.

Downs have 62 points and they could go to 65 points, if they with this evening, which would see them close in on the record tally of 71 points. They only have collected five draws the entire season and are unbeaten in 48 league games overall.

Arrows and Sundowns have battled against each other 45 times, with Sundowns winning 26 and Arrows on nine occasions, while 10 matches ended in draws.

Here is how they line up:

Arrows XI: Watenga, Cross, Cele, Shitolo, Theron, Zwane, Mutizwa, Sibiya, Dube, Dlamini, Nguse

Subs: Kayode, Zuke, Mwengani, Sibeko, Libamba, Ncube , Moon, Hlatshwayo, Lukhele
