A wasteful Kaizer Chiefs succumbed to their fifth defeat of the season after going down 1-0 to Golden Arrows at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Sunday afternoon.
In the 10th minute, Chiefs had a half chance through Tebogo Potsane but his half volley skied into the stands.
Wandile Duba nearly handed Chiefs the lead in the 14th minute but Gladwin Shitolo produced a last-ditch clearance.
A speculative effort in the 35th minute from Arrows forced Bruce Bvuma into a top draw save.
Mduduzi Shabalala missed the best chance of the first period after finding his way past Ismail Watenga in the 37th minute but Nduduzo Sibiya made a huge goal-saving clearance.
Shabalala was again the culprit two minutes later toe-poking his effort wide with Watenga well beaten.
In the 44th minute, Inacio Miguel missed a sitter as his close range header was easily collected by Watenga.
Ranga Chivaviro was next to miss a sitter in the 48th minute after being teed up by Shabalala putting his shot off target.
Arrows took the lead through Gladwin Shitolo in the 56th minute after Bvuma parried the ball into play.
Reeve Frosler hit the upright in the 60th minute before Bradley Cross missed a clear header later on.
Arrows held on to move above Chiefs into fifth with both sides on 18 points after 13 outings.
