Baloyi – Which Coach I’d Pick For Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs legend Brian Baloyi has endorsed astute South African tactician Pitso Mosimane as the suitable candidate for the Amakhosi coaching job.

Current coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef have come under increasing pressure following the team’s poor run of form, with Chiefs losing four consecutive matches across all competitions.

The Soweto giants have already missed out on trophies this season, with only the Betway Premiership still mathematically within reach.

However, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates remain the strongest contenders as they continue to battle at the top of the table.

Baloyi feels “the bus is too big” for the current technical team and believes the experienced Mosimane would be the right man to revive the club.

“There’s a lot of them, yes Benni [McCarthy] would be a right fit, definitely Pitso would also be, but I’d take Pitso over Benni,” said Baloyi on SNAWA on Metro FM.

“If you look at the team and the players we have, you need a mentor. You need someone who knows how to rebuild, to build everything from scratch.

“Benni, as much as he’s a good coach, I think he’s still inexperienced, still needs to get more experience to get to that level.

“There’s more – Fadlu Davids, there’s Rulani [Mokwena] and there’s Manqoba [Mngqithi].

“There’s a lot of coaches that can do a good job at Chiefs that are South African before we even go out, looking for European coaches.”
