Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker has confirmed the signing of former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Brian Onyango, as reported by iDiski Times.
The 29-year-old defender was released by Mamelodi Sundowns earlier this window and initially spent a few days at SuperSport United but United decided against signing him.

Since then, Stellies showed interest and invited him to come down to Winelands where he immediately completed medicals and reached a contract agreement, as first reported by this website.
While the club are yet to make an official announcement, Barker confirmed that they’ve signed Onyango and stated that his experience will come in handy for this season as he will help the youngsters at the club.
“Brian is looking good, yes I can confirm we signed him,” Barker told Thabiso Mosia on Radio 2000.
“He is a great addition to the team, he was at Sundowns and won four league titles, won the AFL, he is a Kenyan international player with great experience.
“So we signed him, we felt that we needed that type of a player in the team not only for his playing ability but also for his leadership qualities, also guiding the youngsters and also sharing the knowledge he has for all the years in South Africa.”
