Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker has affirmed that they are still pretty much not done in the transfer market after losing a few players in the current window.
The Cape Winelands side has been one of the most active sides in the window transfer having signed five players including the likes of Ashley Cupido and also promoted four players from the reserve side.

Even though they’ve made significant signings, they’ve also lost their key players in Deano Van Rooyen, Iqraam Rayners, Anicet Oura, and Antonio Van Wyk.
When asked by the media if they are done signing, Barker was clear that was far from done.
“Not an easy question to answer,” Barker admitted.
“I do believe that in terms of what we need, we are still in the market. Looking to strengthen in one or two areas, so hopefully, by the close of the window we would have had some incomings.
“And I’ve said it on numerous occasions, we are closer now for, you know, Kazie [Godswill], our Nigerian right-back that we signed that will hopefully be joining the squad soon. So, that will be a really good addition to us. We’ve brought in Brian Onyango too, you know, strengthen and show up defensively.
“And we’re happy with our signings in terms of Omega Mdaka, Sanele [Barns] as well as [Lehlohonolo] Mojela. They’ve hit the ground running and also promoted a couple of youngsters in Shakir, Major as well as Tylor Smith.
“So, I think we understand where we are as a football club, and we understand, how we want to be, and where we’re going. And I think we do a lot of planning in terms of not just waiting and then being reactive.
“It’s about being proactive, anticipating certain things may or may not happen, but I do think that for us now, the window has sort of settled. It’s just now in terms of, perhaps just, you know, one or two positions that we may be looking to strengthen last.”
Stellies take on DRC outfit AS Vita in the CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round first leg tie at DHL Stadium later this evening, with the match kicking off at 19:00.
