Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker says his charges are excited and looking forward to their Betway Premiership season opener against Kaizer Chiefs.
The Cape Winelands outfit will be in high spirits after their MTN8 semis progression after they began their season with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over AmaZulu in the last eight.

Having lost each of their last three competitive matches against Chiefs, Barker believes it will be an electrifying atmosphere that they are gearing up for.
“It’s most certainly a nice start to the season to play a team of, you know, Kaizer Chiefs following, and they’re sort of the team that they are,” said Barker, as per SuperSport.com.
“I think, you know, the stadium will be packed and, you know, the players deserve to be playing in front of packed stadiums. They work hard the whole pre-season.
“I am excited for the challenge that awaits us.”
