Kaizer Chiefs head coach Khalil Ben Youssef has made a bold statement regarding his side’s progress, drawing sharp comparisons between this season and previous campaigns.

Following Amakhosi’s 1-1 draw with Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld on Wednesday—a result that hampered the Brazilians’ title hopes—Chiefs find themselves in third place with 48 points from 27 matches.

Ben Youssef expressed his delight with the team’s consistency and their ability to secure results, noting a significant improvement over recent years.

The Tunisian tactician insists there is a “big difference” between the current squad’s performances and the results seen in the club’s past few seasons.

“I’m sure that if this team performs very well, no one can stop us in the league,” said Ben Youssef.

“The process is there, the performance is there. I think the big difference between this season and last seasons is that the results are there.

“I think we are, step by step, continuing to work. We still have three games, we have to win them to continue to get the maximum points and finish in the best position.”
