Brakkies Clarifies Vilakazi Situation

Sekhukhune United head coach Brandon Truter has admitted that it would be huge for the club if midfielder Sibusiso Vilakazi joined them.

Vilakazi has been training with ba Bina Noko after parting ways with TS Galaxy in January. The separation with the Rockets was followed by controversy, with coach Sead Ramovic suggesting that the former Mamelodi Sundowns man didn’t show commitment to the club.

However, the 33-year-old clarified matters on Marawa Sports Worldwide show on 947 FM. He explained about his daughter’s health and how it affected him but also how he humbled himself at the club even when he was sent to the development team.

Truter asked about the intention to secure Vilakazi’s signature after their DStv Premiership loss to Cape Town City and said the player is being understandably cautious about tying himself up.

“Look Vila, at the moment is a case of both parties assessing. With what happened at his previous club he also doesn’t just want to go to any club,” explained Truter.

“He has to make sure it fits him and at the same time, with any player that comes in, we have to make sure that he fits the profile that we are looking for as well.

“But Villa is a good professional. He has been training well, scoring in games and in training as well but he will be a definite plus to have in the squad. I’m saying it’s a plus but like I said now it’s both parties that have to agree/

“You understand he is a bit cautious with just signing on the dotted line and joining a club with what happened to him. So he is also assessing the situation and seeing what we are all about.”
