Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has provided an update regarding Themba Zwane’s injury saying, Mshishi is likely to be out for two months but hopes it takes less than that.
Zwane was stretched off just after 10 minutes into the side’s MTN 8 semi-final first leg against Orlando Pirates last Saturday.
The Bafana Bafana international did, however, emerge from the change rooms limping on the day to watch Sundowns draw 1-1 with Pirates in Orlando.
Cardoso told the media in Seshego after his side’s 2-0 victory over Magesi FC that since the injury happened, the club has made everything possible so that the captain can return sooner.
“Unfortunately Themba will be out for I believe maybe around two months probably unfortunately,” Cardoso.
“But he will come back stronger I believe, for sure and we are expecting him to come [back] as quick as possible.
“Since the moment he got injured the club made everything and himself to make that time as reduced as possible. Let’s hope he can do it as short as possible.
“All players and all part of the family when they are not 100% they are a big loss because we suffer by everybody’s problems. But he’ll come back again and soon he’ll be on the pitch.”
