Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has insisted he is not worried who scores for his team, after Lucas Ribeiro ended his five-match mini-drought against Stellenbosch FC.
Ribeiro is currently the leading player in the Golden Boot race, having taken his tally to 14 goals in Sundowns’ 3-0 win over Stellenbosch on Sunday.

He is two goals ahead of his teammate Iqraam Rayners, who was also on the scoresheet on Sunday, with the Brazilian finding the back of the net for the first time since 5 March.
However, his coach insisted he isn’t focussed on the individuals as long as they work for the team.
“What is important that we saw Iqraam, Tashreeq, Lucas, Arthur, even Thapelo when he entered, he was in a good level,” he said on SuperSport TV.

“It’s important the team produces football and then the goals will flourish. I don’t worry about players that score or don’t score.
“I’d be worried if the players inside the pitch don’t work for the team in order for the team to score and that has been happening.
“Lucas today also made a wonderful pass for Rayners for the goal. This is the spirit we have, the balance we have, and having written on our shirt Ubuntu, it means that we work as a team and not individuals.
“So, I’m always happy when we score when they play together and then we enjoy football, that’s the most important thing.”
