Casric Stars converted a 95th-minute penalty to draw 1-1 against Cape Town City in the PSL Promotion Play-offs mini-league at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.
Casric had a dream start in the game after Lebohang Lesako played a through pass to Decide Chauke who went through a goal, but his shot was tipped over the crossbar by Darren Keet.

In the fourth minute, Stars had another glorious opportunity again Chauke had a one versus one situation after poor clearance from Thamsanqa Mkhize, but Keet produced a stellar save.
City’s first shot on target came in the 20th minute after Aprocius Petrus’s free kick from outside the box was saved by Stars goalkeeper Emile Lako.
The Citizens opened the scoring in the 26th minute, Petrus took a free kick which was flicked by Mkhize to find Prins Tjiueza who made no mistake and placed it into the net to make it 1-0.
The visitors went into the break with a narrow 1-0 lead with Casric all to fight for in the second half.
For the first 10 minutes of the second half, Casric piled up the pressure, but not much troubling Keet as CT City’s defence remained resolute.
City had a glorious chance to make it 2-0 in the 65th minute, a well-worked free kick form Jaeden Rhodes and Petrus found Nathan Fasika at the back post who played a nice cutback which Lorenz Gordinho and Cee-Jay Bezuidenhout both missed. Scoreline remained 1-0.
With 17 minutes left in normal time, City survived a scare after Chauke’s shot was cleared off the line by Siphamandla Dondolo.
But there was real drama in the 95th minute as Stars were awarded a penalty which they converted for a share of the spoils.
Next game for the playoffs is between Casric and Orbit College which is a master win for Stars if they are to keep their chances of making it to the Betway Premiership.
