Wounded Amakhosi come to this game following a defeat to Stellenbosch FC, which dented their title hopes and came after exiting the Nedbank Cup and CAF Confederation Cup within a span of 10 days.
Chiefs are sitting in fourth place with 30 points after 16 games, knowing a win would push them to third place and cut the gap to the leaders to five points with a game in hand.
Amakhosi have failed to win or draw against Pirates in the last four league games, something they look to turn around; their last win against Pirates in the league was in February 2023. Of course they will draw confidence from their 2-1 win in the Nedbank Cup final last season.
