Kaizer Chiefs dropped points against bottom-placed Chippa United, missing a chance to reclaim third place.
The Chiefs coaches rung the changes ahead of kick-off, with Paseka Mako, Thabiso Monyane, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Mfundo Vilakazi, Asanele Velebayi and Flavio Da Silva all coming into the line-up.
However, large parts of the first half were a very dull affair, with neither side threatening the opposition goalkeeper.
Flavio Da Silva had the first big chance of the game after 33 minutes but his volley from close range flew over the bar.
Da Silva again had a chance after 53 minutes but his header following a cross by Mfundo Vilakazi went straight at the keeper.
Chippa then finally tested Brandon Petersen after 68 minutes, but the Chiefs keeper parried Eva Nga’s powerful shot.
Chiefs should’ve scored just two minutes later after Da Silva found Vilakazi free inside the box but Dumisani Msibi pushed the shot of the youngster on the outside of the post.
The Chiefs coaches tried their best to freshen up the legs, bringing on the likes of Mduduzi Shabalala, Khanyisa Mayo, Pule Mmodi and Etiosa Ighodaro in the second half, but Chiefs continued in their struggle to create clear-cut chances.
Ighodaro had a late chance from a header inside the box but he missed the target in injury-time. Even later, Ndlovu almost stole the headlines but his shot from outside the box just missed the target.
The draw sees Chiefs drop to fifth place, with 23 points from 12 games – one behind fourth-placed AmaZulu and two behind third-placed Sekhukhune United.
