Chiefs Give Injury Update, Sirino Sidelined

Kaizer Chiefs have given an injury update on five players, including Gaston Sirino, who picked up an abductor injury in the game against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Amakhosi lost 2-1 to Masandawana, which was the first defeat under new head coach Nasreddine Nabi after two wins.

Sirino has been one of the key players for Chiefs, providing two assists and scoring one goal in those opening games.

However, the Glamour Boys only return to action on 26 October when they will face SuperSport United, and Sirino should be able to return to team training before.

Gaston Sirino sustained an abductor muscle injury in the last match and he is improving nicely and we expect him to beck in full training within two weeks,” Chiefs physio Dave Milner told the club’s website.

“Another player progressing well is George Matlou. He has started running and doing some ball work and we are looking at a November return for him.

Tebogo Potsane went for a scan which showed some ligament damage [in his ankle], so we expect him to be out for around three weeks.

Edmilson Dove is out of the protective boot and is doing some preliminary walking. We are confident he will be able to start running in November.

“Brandon [Petersen] had the pins removed from his finger and can start full training immediately.”
