Kaizer Chiefs have launched the 2026 edition of the Toyota Cup, confirming they will face Scottland FC this year.
It’s the third year since new version Toyota Cup was launched, with Chiefs losing both previous editions – last year they were beaten on penalties by Asante Kotoko after the game had ended 0-0.
The year before, Amakhosi were hammered 4-0 by Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC in Nasreddine Nabi’s first official match in charge of the club.
This year, Chiefs invited Zimbabwean side Scottland FC, the team of former Amakhosi stars Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona. The match will be played at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace in Rustenburg on 26 July.
The match will be broadcast live on SABC1, and a Kaizer Chiefs legends match will form part of the spectacle.
The Toyota Cup will probably be Chiefs’ last official friendly match ahead of the start of the new season, when the club will likely present their new players and coach to the club’s fans as well.
The Glamous Boys are expected to have pre-season in Germany ahead of 2026/27, as previously reported by iDiski Times.
