Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that fan favourite Ethan Chislett suffered a hamstring strain prior to the Durban City clash.

The 27-year-old had a seven-month wait before making his debut for the club after being snapped up at the beginning of the season on a free transfer.

The Durban-born attacker joined the Glamour Boys from English outfit Port Vale at the end of the previous campaign.

He only made his first appearance for Chiefs in their 2-1 defeat to Stellenbosch FC in the Betway Premiership before starting again in the 3-0 Soweto Derby defeat to Orlando Pirates at FNB Stadium.

Chislett then started again in Amakhosi’s 1-0 away loss to Richards Bay but had to sit out today’s clash due to injury.

“The last forced change is that of Ethan Chislett who is out with a hamstring strain,” Chiefs said on their website.

The Glamour Boys returned to winning ways after holding out for a hard-fought 1-0 win over Durban City.

Glody Lilepo got the all-important goal in the 69th minute as Chiefs moved fifth on the Betway Premiership standings.

Amakhosi next travel to the Moses Mabhida Stadium to take on Magesi FC on Saturday, 21 March.
