Kaizer Chiefs and Polokwane City have announced their starting line-ups for this afternoon’s Betway Premiership last round clash at FNB Stadium.
The battle for the top eight finish goes down to the wire. Amakhosi’s faith to finish in the top eight is in their hands, as they need to win this afternoon against Rise and Shine. But a win is something that they haven’t witnessed in the league in the last eight matches.
The importance of this match could also determine the future of head coach Nasreddine Nabi, as finishing in top eight is a priority to Chiefs management.
Meanwhile, City coach Phuti Mohafe is also on the same boat as Nabi, as he is under a lot of pressure to finish in the top eight despite starting the season well and being third in the league table at one stage.
The Limpopo-based side have gone five matches without win but a draw could secure them qualification for the MTN8 next season and the take off the load on Mohafe’s team.
City defeated Chiefs in the first round of the season at Peter Mokaba Stadium by a comfortable 2-0. A draw this afternoon wont be enough for Amakhosi.
Here is how they line up:
Chiefs XI: Petersen, Cross, Miguel, Dove, Solomons, Mthethwa, Maart, Shabalala, Lilepo, Duba, Morris
Subs: Ntwari, McCarthy, Zwane, Castillo, Ngcobo, Sirino, Vilakazi, Du Preez, Chivaviro
PLK City XI: tbc.
