Chiefs & Royal AM Starting XIs Announced

Kaizer Chiefs and Royal AM have announced their starting line-ups for this afternoon’s DStv Premiership match-day six encounter at FNB Stadium.

Amakhosi return to the Calabash two weeks after holding Mamelodi Sundowns to a 1-1 draw in their MTN8 semi-final first leg.

Chiefs have been doing well in home games this campaign, as they are yet to lose and they’ve collected four points out of a possible six.

The Ephefeni Glamour Boys could even move into second place on the log, if they win today, depending on the result between Lamontville Golden Arrows and Stellenbosch FC.

Meanwhile Thwihli Thwahla went into the international break with two wins in a row and they will look to continue where they left off.

John Maduka has used the club’s FIFA ban to unleash some good youngsters and Hopewell Cele is the one that they might rely on to hurt Chiefs.

The last time Chiefs lost to Royal AM at home was back in September 2021 in a 4-1 match, while the last meeting between the two ended 2-0 in favour of Kaizer Chiefs.

The big team news for the visitors was that chairman Andile Mpisane has been named on the bench.

Here is how they line up:

Chiefs XI: Petersen, Hlanti, Dithlokwe, Msimango, Kwinika, Maart, Castillo, Matlou, Mmodi, Du Preez, Gonzalez

Subs: Khune, Nj. Ngcobo, Frosler, Dove, Nk. Ngcobo, Shabalala, Chivaviro, Zwane, Saile

Royal AM XI: Ngcobo, Manganyi, Jiyane, Mogaila, Sithole, Thikazi, Dlamini, Cele, Mahlasela, Gamildien, Mabuza

Subs: Mpoto, Kobedi, Macuphu, George, Mpisane, Dlamini, Ncobeni, Maxwell, Msomi
