Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC have named their respective starting line-ups for this evening’s Betway Premiership encounter at FNB Stadium.
Amakhosi have now set their sole focus on domestic duty after a gruelling week which saw them travel to North Africa for continental competition.
Unfortunately, despite topping their group with 10 points coming into their last match, The Glamour Boys crashed out following a 2-1 defeat to Zamalek in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Chiefs sit fourth on the league table with eight wins, six draws, and just one loss which came as far back as September 2025, going down 3-1 at FNB Stadium.
A win will see them up to 33 points, five behind table-toppers Orlando Pirates with the former having a game in hand ahead of this weekend’s Soweto Derby tussle at FNB Stadium.
The Cape Winelands outfit on the other hand have proven to be a difficult team to get past by knocking Chiefs out of the Nedbank Cup in the first round after doing the same in the Carling Kockout Cup last year.
Gavin Hunt’s troops are however battling inconsistency after being eliminated from both the CAF Confederation Cup and Nedbank Cup. They currently languish in 13th spot with 16 points from 16 games having won two, two losses, and a draw.
In head-to-head stats, the two sides have met 13 times with Chiefs coming away with seven wins to Stellies’ three while three fixtures ended in stalemates.
