Chiefs Suffer Another Defensive Blow

Kaizer Chiefs stand-in captain Zitha Kwinika will miss Tuesday’s Betway Premiership encounter due to suspension.

The 32-year-old defender was the only Chiefs player who was booked in their humbling 3-0 defeat to arch-rivals Orlando Pirates, picking up his fourth yellow booking of the season.

Amakhosi suffered back-to-back defeats in a space of five days which has seen them drop to fifth in the log standings with 30 points from 17 matches but a win tomorrow could lift them into third after Sekhukhune United failed to picked up maximum points as they went down 3-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns.

Durban City have since replaced Chiefs in fourth place after they narrowly beat Marumo Gallants 1-0 away from home on Sunday.

Amakhosi make the trip to KwaZulu-Natal to face Richards Bay at uMhlathuze Stadium on Tuesday evening as they look to bounce back after what has been a difficult period for the team.

It’s unclear at this point how Amakhosi will line up at the back against the Natal Rich Boyz after Inacio Miguel was stretchered off in the Soweto Derby defeat.

Number one goalkeeper Brandon Petersen also missed out on the spectacle due to injury with Bruce Bvuma taking his place.
