They narrowly suffered a 1-0 loss to SuperSport United and were held to a pulsating 2-2 draw by Magesi FC. They also suffered a humiliating 4-0 thumping at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns in the Carling Knockout Cup last eight.
Despite going 25 days without a competitive match, Nasreddine Nabi’s charges took part in the inaugural Home of Legends Cup alongside Golden Arrows, Chippa United and Sundowns as they emerged victorious over Manqoba Mngqithi’s side in a tense penalty shootout.
The Natal Rich Boyz on the other hand are equally on a bad run of form and are winless in their last five matches.
Chiefs occupy ninth place and could move back into the top half of the table if they claim maximum points while Bay sit in 12th spot with five points from seven matches.
In head-to-head stats, Chiefs hold the upper advantage in the four league matches they have met: Amakhosi won three compared to just one for the KwaZulu-Natal-based outfit.
