Cape Town City started their fight for survival in the Betway Premiership with a disappointing goalless draw against Orbit College.
Orbit College goes top of the PSL Promotion Play-Offs mini log after their second consecutive goalless draw, this time away at Cape Town City.
Betway Premiership side Cape Town City were the favourites, but struggled to create many clearcut chances throughout the match.
City started on the front foot but only had one shot on target in the first half that came in the 40th minute from Namibian international Prins Tjueza but goalkeeper Sekhoane Moarene made a good save.
Going into the break with 0-0 score-line left City wanting, while Orbit College were working hard for their result.
The second half started with City making two changes, Luyolo Slatsha and Jody Ah Shene were replaced by Thulani Serero and 16-year-old Emile Witbooi.
Witbooi nearly made immediate impact five minutes into the half after a great strike from outside the box but it only hit the crossbar and the score-line remind 0-0.
Mswenko Boys came close to opening goal inside 76th minute after Ayanda Lukhele’s shot went wide with City goalkeeper Darren Keet beaten hands down. Two minutes later College had another chance but Letsie Koapend’s shot went wide over the crossbar.
City had a late chance via Cee-Jay Bezuidenhout but Moerane denied the youngster with a brilliant save from close range.
The next game will see City traveling to Casric Stars in Mpumalanga with hope of collecting maximum points.
