Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz has shared his expectations for the 2026/27 campaign following his first outing in front of the club’s supporters.
The Frenchman took over during the off-season, succeeding co-coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze, who guided Amakhosi last season.

Da Cruz marked his first appearance before a packed crowd as Chiefs edged Scottland FC 1-0 to lift the Toyota Cup at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Sunday.
Reflecting on the atmosphere after the victory, the Chiefs mentor praised the passionate support and stressed that the team will rely heavily on their fans throughout what he expects to be a demanding season.
He believes their backing will be crucial in helping the club secure positive results.
“For us, it’s our 12th man. I hope they’ll be behind us all season because the season is going to be tough,” he said.
“I hope they will continue to come and support us inside the stadium because we need 12 men to win all our games.
“We need 12 men to win all our games.”
