Kaizer Chiefs coach Fernando Da Cruz remains confident in his team’s performances despite their recent struggles to secure victories.
Amakhosi are now winless in their last five matches across all competitions, recording three draws and two defeats during that period.
Their latest setback came on Friday night when they were knocked out of the CAF Confederation Cup by Zambian outfit Red Arrows following a penalty-shootout defeat.
Despite the disappointing results, Da Cruz believes his side has been playing well but has been unlucky in front of goal and in crucial moments.
The Chiefs coach is convinced that maintaining their current style of play will eventually yield positive results in the matches ahead.
“As I have already said, the team plays very well for the moment,” said Da Cruz after the Red Arrows match at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
“It’s a fact, the result was not on our side today but we must continue on this way because if we continue to work as we have been and to play as we did today with character, with intensity, the luck will turn on our side and we will win more and more games.”
Da Cruz has also urged his team not to lose hope, pointing out that the season is still in its early stagesand there is plenty left to play for, with several competitions still ahead.
“We cannot give up, we are only in October, it’s the beginning of the season, there is again a lot of games so we must just continue to work,” he added.
