Orlando Pirates midfielder Cemran Dansin has spoken about his spectacular goal against Mamelodi Sundowns, which is now being tipped as a contender for the Goal of the Season award.
The 20-year-old was handed a baptism of fire, starting against the mighty Sundowns in the Betway Premiership.
He justified coach Abdeslam Ouaddou’s trust by scoring a crucial equaliser after the Brazilians had taken a first-half lead. His goal won the Betway Premiership Goal of the Month for November/December.
Dansin says he’d be delighted if the Betway Premiership Goal of the Season award is bestowed upon him, saying he hopes that he walks away with it.
“I’d be very happy and I’m hoping that it can win the Goal of the Season award,” said Dansin.
Reflecting on the goal, he said, “The goal happened so quick and as I hit the target, I could see it was going in, and I was waiting to celebrate.”
Further, he stated that the goal gave him confidence as a youngster in the star-studded squad of Ezimnyama Ngenkani.
“As a young player, playing for Orlando Pirates, it will help me going forward, knowing that I’m capable of doing such.”
