Dladla On How They Are Managing Games At Durban City

Durban City coach Pitso Dladla has opened up on how they have managed to do well in their first season in the Betway Premiership.

Things might be not be at its best off the field at Durban City, but on the field of play, they keep delivering.

City started the season with Gavin Hunt as the head coach; midway through the season, Hunt was replaced by Sinethemba Badela, who only lasted for three games.

A week later, City parted ways with technical director Ernst Middendorp and the privilege for City is that the chaos happening off the field hasn’t affected them on the field of play.

City currently remain unbeaten in the last five matches, sitting in fourth place in the Betway Premiership and in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals.

Dladla has been assistant coach to all the coaches at Durban City, and he explained what their secret has been throughout the season and how they plan to continue with the good form.

“It’s more about planning for each game for us,” Dladla told the media.

“We just want to make sure that preparations are well executed, which helps us to focus on each game, and that has led to the unbeaten record.

“It’s good, but that’s not something that’s in our heads.

“What is in our hands is that in this league, you should do well at home. So, that allows us to take certain risks when we play at home, and now we know how to approach the game when we play away.

“When we play at home, we take risks, and it’s been working for us.”
