Ekstein On Losing Three Games On The Trot

AmaZulu FC veteran midfielder Hendrick Ekstein has addressed the team’s recent slump after three successive defeats in the Betway Premiership.

Usuthu went down to Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Stellenbosch FC, halting their momentum in the title race.

After looking somewhat like title contenders, AmaZulu have now slipped to sixth place on the table with 30 points from 19 matches.

“Obviously, it’s not easy and it’s not nice to lose three games in a row when we’re talking about the league,” said Ekstein.

“So, the only thing we have to do is to regroup, rebuild ourselves, focus to the next match.”

The KwaZulu-Natal outfit will host Magesi FC on Wednesday at the Princess Magogo Stadium, determined to bounce back as they push to secure a top four finish.

“Obviously, it’s not going to be an easy match against Magesi, but we’ll try our level best to win this game against Magesi,” he added.

Commenting regarding their previous meeting with Dikwena tša Meetse, where they drew 1-1, he said, “Obviously, we knew playing away from home is not going to be easy, so nobody wanted to win, but each game we played 1-1. So, the only thing we have to do when we play home this time is to collect maximum points.”

“Like I said, it’s not going to be an easy match, but we’ll try our level best to claim the three points.”
