Ex-Chiefs Coach Speaks Highly Of Ouaddou

Muhsin Ertugral, who previously coached Kaizer Chiefs, has expressed admiration for Orlando Pirates mentor Abdeslam Ouaddou.

The French-Moroccan tactician joined the Buccaneers at the start of the season and has now spent over six months at the club after taking over from Jose Riveiro.

He has already secured three pieces of silverware, winning the MTN8, Carling Knockout Cup and the Carling Black Label Cup.

He has guided the team to the top of the Betway Premiership table, amassing 28 points from 12 league games, while Sundowns sit second with 26 points from 13 matches.

Ertugral has lauded Ouaddou, describing the former Fulham defender as a “great coach” for the Buccaneers, but cautioned that Mamelodi Sundowns will pose a tough challenge in the second half of the season.

“Pirates this season has a great, great coach, I’ve said that this season before,” said Ertugral on Omni Audio Africa.

“They brought a coach that has a pedigree. He’s such a brilliant, brilliant mental coach.

“I hope he works in peace, even though there will be some holes in the second round. Sundowns will push I know that.

“But this will be, again, Pirates and Sundowns season.”
