New Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids believes Kaizer Chiefs supporters are in for a treat when it comes to the type of football new coach Nasreddine Nabi displays.
The two coaches worked for rival clubs in the Botola Pro League in Morocco, with Davids getting the upper hand with former side Raja Athletic over Nabi while still in charge of AS FAR Rabat in both league and cup competitions.
Davids has since taken over the hotseat at the Tanzanian giants while Nabi sealed a highly-anticipated move to Naturena.
The former Orlando Pirates and Maritzburg United coach spoke to iDiski Times Digital Editor, David Kappel in edition 163 of the newspaper, where he explained Nabi’s direct style of play and how the Amakhosi faithful will beam of pride with it.
“I think I’ve been misquoted a lot of the times, ” Davids told iDiski Times.
“I think people misunderstood where I said he is a direct coach. I’m talking about how he was the most attacking [team], he scored the most goals in Morocco. He was the coach that was always on top of us, it was so difficult to always play against him.
“It’s exciting times for Kaizer Chiefs, I think he will do extremely well there. Tactically it was never an easy game. There was always something he came up with against us to expose our weaknesses and he’s an attacking coach, that will move forward at any moment, that will attack.
“He will play a brand of football the Kaizer Chiefs fans will enjoy and I wish him all the best as well. It’s been a very difficult season in the end for him [in Morocco] but a fantastic season overall for FAR Rabat what they had last season, ” Davids further said.
