It was an action-packed final day of the DStv Premiership, with Mamelodi Sundowns unbeaten run coming to an end, while Orlando Pirates snatched second place.
The DStv Premiership champions lost 1-0 to Cape Town City to end the season on 73 points, while City ended in fifth on 45 points.
In the race for second spot, Orlando Pirates leapfrogged Stellenbosch FC after the Buccaneers drew 1-1 with SuperSport United, while Stellies lost 2-1 at Richards Bay.
Meanwhile, Sekhukhune United secured fourth place thanks to a 1-0 win at Chippa United, with TS Galaxy dropping to sixth after going down to Polokwane City.
It was Rise & Shine, who secured the final top eight spot after Kaizer Chiefs lost 2-0 to already-relegated Cape Town Spurs.
At the bottom, Richards Bay will have to go in the promotion/relegation playoffs despite their win over Stellies, because Royal AM also beat Moroka Swallows 2-1.
