Former Boss Makes Nabi Claim

Young Africans SC President Eng. Hersi Ally Said believes Nasreddine Nabi “will do wonders” at Kaizer Chiefs.

The Tunisian tactician will face his former side in the inaugural Toyota Cup on 28 July at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.

Said was present at the launch of the tournament and was naturally asked about new Chiefs coach Nabi, who lifted back-to-back trebles with Yanga before joining ASFAR ahead of 2024/25.

“For us, as Young Africans, it’s an opportunity to meet our coach again,” he said.

“Personally, let me take this opportunity to wish him all the best. I know coach Nabi is coming down here, there is a lot of requirements, there is a lot of expectations on him and the technical staff and there is a lot of expectations from the fans at Kaizer Chiefs.

“So we wish him all the best, he’s a very good coach. He has down marvellous with us. We won the league two times with him, we won the FA Cup two times with him. We went all the way to the final of the CAF Confederations Cup with him.

“The best management and the players that Kaizer Chiefs have, I’m sure he is going to do wonders here.

“Let me take this opportunity to wish him all the best. I know it’s going to be tough, South Africa is on another level in terms of football, but all the best.”

Chiefs are currently in Turkey for their pre-season camp, with Nabi joining his new squad on Sunday.
