Former Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu FC midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe has officially joined Flamingo FC, a SAFA King Cetswayo Regional League Stream B side.
Sithebe, who has made two appearances for Bafana Bafana in 2020, has been out of a professional setup for over a year, since leaving KwaZulu-Natal-based Richards Bay in February last year.
The 33-year-old had the best stretch of his career at AmaZulu FC before joining Chiefs. He made 132 appearances in the colors of Usuthu, scoring eight goals and providing nine assists.
At Chiefs, Sithebe was tipped to be the next star but he somewhat fell short of expectations and only made 39 appearances in all competitions without scoring a single goal.
When he joined Richards Bay, the focus was on reviving his career, but he struggled to establish himself at the club, making only eight appearances before leaving to join Mbombela United.
Fourth-division side Flamingo FC has now announced the KwaZulu-Natal-born player. He is expected to bring his experience to the club and help it compete for promotion to the third division.
