Marumo Gallants Sundra Govender denied any inside politics that are rumored to be happening inside the club following the spacial leave of Dan Maleseala.
Govender was rumored to have been with Gallants at the beginning of the season but he later got appointed as the head coach of Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars.
Stars had a good start in the campaign, winning four of their first five matches and sitting top of the MFC league table before things turned around and witnessed them going six matches without a win.
In the first week of December, Govender was announced to have stepped down as the Casric head coach. A week later he was confirmed by Gallants to have joined the side as an additional member of the technical team after Maleseala was placed “on special leave”.
After the 8-1 drubbing against Pirates Govender was asked by the media if there was politics that could be happening in the club that lead to players performing the way they did against Pirates.
“I don’t like to comment on stuff like that, to be honest. I didn’t even know there were politics myself joining the team was obviously to stabilize with the current head coach which is coach Dan so it was a difficult question for me to answer so if there is any politics of course any politics will affect players but I’m not aware of anything like that,” Govender told the gathered journalists.
