Lamontville Golden Arrows defender Sicelo Hlatshwayo has been admitted to hospital after seriously colliding with a player at training on Thursday morning.
Hlatshwayo was one of the main talking points during the recent transfer window after he was rumoured to be wanted by Orlando Pirates, but Arrows maintained to keep their defender.
He joined the KwaZulu-Natal side in the second half of last season after he had a good spell with Gallants but the versatile defender hasn’t played a part this season at Arrows, as he has been troubled by injuries.
This publication has now learnt that Hlatshwayo collided with another player during the morning session on Wednesday, which was around 10h30. He was rushed to hospital as he couldn’t talk or move and got admitted in ICU.
But news received by iDiski Times is that he is responsive on Thursday and on his way to recovery.
This publication contacted the club to get a comment regarding the incident and received the following response: “We can’t talk about this now; the club will communicate in due course”.
