Stellenbosch FC head coach Gavin Hunt has expressed frustration over Olisah Ndah’s work permit which has halted his debut for the club.
It’s been a month since Ndah completed a move to Stellies as a free agent, but he is yet to make his debut.
The Nigerian defender has been waiting for his work permit, something Hunt feels shouldn’t be the case, as it’s just a change of employer since Ndah was at Orlando Pirates.
The 28-year-old could miss the Lamontville Golden Arrows clash as he hasn’t received his work permit even today; Stellies are expected to travel to Durban later for tomorrow evening’s Betway Premiership clash.
Stellenbosch might need him more than ever now, with Thabo Moloisane and Mosa Lebusa looking uncomfortable towards the end of the game against TS Galaxy, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Hunt mentioned that some teams get their work permits quicker than others.
“I’d love to get Ndah, but some people get a work permit done much quicker than others,” Hunt told the media.
“I mean, it’s just a change of employee, so it should be something quick. It’s a problem because I want to compare, but if you compare big leagues around the world, if a foreign player, the work permit gets done through a certain person for all the clubs, in my opinion.
“So, I think that should happen, but it’s never happened like that. So, it’s a bit disappointing because he’s been here close to a month, and he should have played by now.”
