Stellenbosch FC head coach Gavin Hunt has stated that he wants to help veteran striker Bradley Grobler to break Peter Shalulile’s PSL all-time scoring record.
Namibian international Peter Shalulile holds Premier Soccer League record with 134 goals. The 32-year-old played for Highlands Park and Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa but is now playing for Tanzanian giants Young Africans.

Grobler is just behind Shalulile with 130 goals, and has a chance to surpass the Namibian international as he is still playing in South Africa, while Shalulile is outside the country. But the 38-year-old has been struggling with injuries in the later stages of his career.
Hunt who knows Grobler inside-out, as he coached him across his career, made it clear that he will try to push the former Bafana Bafana striker to break the PSL record and also stated that the club needs Grobler and his goals.
“I said to Bradley the most important thing when you’re getting older in football do you still want to come to training, do you still want to do it everyday but once you lose that then you must retire,” Hunt told the media.
“But he still wants it; he is obviously pushing for that PSL record, I will try to help him get there.
“He needs us; we need him because he can do it. He’s got one already and there’s still a long season to go. He trains everyday; he looks okay, obviously he’s not gonna play 90 minutes every game.”
