Stellenbosch FC head coach Gavin Hunt has opened up about Kobamelo Kodisang’s limited game time since his arrival at the club.
The 26-year-old winger joined Stellies on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns during the January transfer window, after cutting short a previous loan spell with AVS Futebol SAD.
Kodisang has featured in five matches across all competitions so far, but has only started once.
In the Betway Premiership, his involvement has been minimal, with just a single minute played against TS Galaxy.
Hunt revealed that the winger arrived “out of condition,” and the club is being cautious about rushing him back, especially given the demands of his position.
He added that Kodisang will be given a fair opportunity as he regains fitness.
“He came to us out of condition,” said Hunt.
“You’re coming into a pressure situation where you have to defend the lead, and you don’t want to put pressure on a wide player like him.
“So, you got to be careful, so he definitely deserves more time, there’s no doubt about it.
“I think we need to give him a fair chance.”
