Mamelodi Sundowns defender Asekho Tiwani says he looks up to most of his teammates especially those in his position, however, is not at the club to just make up numbers.
The 19-year-old joined the defending league champions on a long-term contract in July 2024 from Sekhukhune United and made his debut in the CAF Champions League against Mbabane Swallows featuring the entire 90 minutes.

The national U20 captain spoke to iDiski Times senior journalist Lorenz Köhler in edition 172 where he admitted to admiring the likes of Aubrey Modiba, Terrence Mashego and Divine Lunga. Tiwani says the seniors have also been good to him on and off the field and while he appreciates them, he also aims to compete.
“Ja first of all, they are good human beings” Tiwani told iDiski Times.
“Ja, they are really supportive. They are really supportive. And I’m really honoured to be sharing a dressing room with them. And there are things that I’m learning from them, you know. So, for me, I will learn a lot from them.
“I will learn a lot from them, of which, it will also make me challenge them, you know. So I’m also not there to maybe add numbers or relax.
“So, I’m also there to keep on working harder, because what they saw me doing in Sekhukhune, I can also still continue doing it. So, I’ll keep on working hard until I get my chance.”
