Kaizer Chiefs caretaker coach Cavin Johnson has confirmed that Keagan Dolly and Ashley Du Preez are ready for the restart of the season, while teenage sensation Mfundo Vilakazi has made the match-day squad.
Chiefs face Royal AM in KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday and could make up some ground on the log after all five teams ahead of them only drew this weekend.
Amakhosi enter the game on the back of a run of three wins and one draw before the AFCON break, and will hope to continue this form against Royal AM.
“Apart from the long-term injuries, the only player unavailable is [Edmilson] Dove, who picked up a knock during the Afcon,” he told Chiefs media.
“We are pleased to have Keagan [Dolly] back in the team, and Ashley [Du Preez] is back to full fitness, so on that front, we are satisfied with the players at our disposal.”
Johnson also confirmed that ‘Obrigado’, who was promoted to the senior team towards the end of last year after some brilliant displays in the Diski team and a stellar performance in the Carling Black Label Cup, could make his senior debut for the club.
“Oh yes, Mfundo [Vilakazi] is in the match day squad and let’s hope he can get some minutes tomorrow [Sunday],” he added.
