Kaizer Chiefs caretaker coach Cavin Johnson has named Teboho Mokoena and Ronwen Williams as his two main candidates for Player of the Season.
Amkhosi picked up a 1-1 draw with AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Wednesday, with the result seeing them climb back into eighth place on the log.
With only two games left to play in the DStv Premiership, the Player of the Season debate has been raging on for a few weeks, with various candidates being discussed.
When asked for his opinion on potential contenders, Johnson named the Mamelodi Sundowns duo.
“The number one that comes to mind is Teboho Mokoena,” he told KZN media, as per Ayanda Nyuswa.
“And the other one is Ronwen Williams. They’ve taken the African Football League, they came [third] in CAF and they’ve done very, very well.”
Johnson will be one of the judges for the Footballer of the Season award, as it will be decided by the 16 coaches of the DStv Premiership teams.
