AmaZulu FC co-coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi is of the notion that Mamelodi Sundowns are maybe not yet into the standard they are used to as new coach Miguel Cardoso tries and find his combinations.
The defending champions brought Cardoso earlier this month to replace Manqoba Mngqithi following unsatisfactory performances and results. The Portuguese mentor has so far overseen two matches winning both 1-0 in the league and CAF Champions League.

Vilakazi believes the results show that the coach is still trying to implement his philosophy which is not moving at a fast rate. “Kanu” also added that in as much he knows Sundowns’ capability to grind results, this might be a good time for Usuthu to be facing them.
“I think I’ve watched them in both games where you can see that maybe he’s still trying to do something of his own,” said Vilakazi.
“But it’s not happening as in yet. They’ve won both games with 1-0, that’s not the Sundowns that we know. So, it’s a sign that maybe things are not yet into a standard where he wants to see them.

“So, I think we are also fortunate to come against them at this moment where they are still trying to do something with the new coach.
“So, we will definitely give our best and make sure that come the end of the day we become victorious.
“So, we are not going to undermine Sundowns, Sundowns has quality, and they always work very hard in terms of getting results, but we will dig deep in terms of making sure that we also compete on the day.”
The two sides face each other at the Moses Mabhida Stadium this afternoon at 15:00.
