Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has opened up about his future, as well as that of the technical team, following the conclusion of the season.

Amakhosi ended the 2025/26 campaign with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Chippa United in the Betway Premiership at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

They finished the season in third place on the table, securing 54 points from 30 league matches.

This position earned Chiefs qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup, a tournament they also participated in this season.

Kaze stated that their future depends on the board, adding that a season assessment meeting will take place next week, where the technical team will present their strategy to take the club forward.

“I knew that this question would come. I didn’t just expect that it would be the first question,” said Kaze.

“I thought that the first question would be about the tactic of the games but fair enough.

“It’s up to the board, next week probably we will meet and to assess as well the season, as well as the coaches. There are things that we have to put on the table that we believe that would push the team forward.

“It’s going to be a discussion between two parties that have lived together well and I’m pretty sure that you will get the information.”

Asked whether their results this season would make the management’s upcoming decision-making difficult, he agreed, stating that the team’s visible improvement would indeed give the club’s leadership a tough choice to make.

“I’m hoping so, I’m hoping that we have made it difficult [for the board] with the results this season,” added Kaze.
