Kaze On Richards Bay Loss, Miguel’s Withdrawal

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has reacted to his side’s defeat against Richards Bay FC and spoken about the withdrawal of vice-captain Inacio Miguel.

Amakhosi went down 1-0 to the Natal Rich Boyz in a Betway Premiership clash at the uMhlathuze Sports Complex on Tuesday night.

The result marked a fourth defeat across all competitions for the Soweto giants, following earlier losses to Orlando Pirates, Stellenbosch FC and Zamalek SC.

Kaze admitted the performance was once again disappointing and stated the team must return to the drawing board.

“It’s a disappointing result, of course we started well the game but unfortunately we conceded a goal on an individual mistake,” said Kaze on SuperSport TV.

“I believe as well we were a little bit shaky in the defence probably the injury of [Inacio] Miguel and suspension of [Zitha] Kwinika, you have to change the whole defence.

“I believe that mostly costed us the game, but we have to do better, the only thing is to go back to the training field and hope that we get back our players injured and suspended.”

Explaining why Miguel was taken off the starting line-up during the warm-up, he said, “He felt something since in the morning and the medical staff tried everything.

“They tried even during the warm-up session to fix it and we were assessing and at the end he couldn’t get his place”
